Spitz is President of Techistential, the preeminent foresight practice, which advises CEOs, founders, and boards on evaluating strategy under uncertainty. Spitz is also Chair of the Disruptive Futures Institute in San Francisco and an expert advisor to the World Economic Forum’s Global Foresight Network. Spitz authored five books, including the acclaimed collection “The Definitive Guide to Thriving on Disruption” and “Disrupt With Impact: Achieve Business Success in an Unpredictable World”. His frameworks, adopted by organizations worldwide, have featured in Fast Company, Gartner, INC. Magazine, Institute of Directors, and MIT Technology Review.
Renowned for his pioneering contributions to climate foresight, Spitz is a board member of Lux Carbon Standard, Brazil’s first carbon credit certifier. As a leading expert in artificial intelligence, he is credited with coining the term “Techistentialism.” Spitz writes extensively on the future of AI and strategic decision-making, and serves on the AI Council of the Indian Society for Artificial Intelligence.
A strong advocate for startups, he is venture partner at Vektor Partners and an advisor of Berkeley SkyDeck’s fund. Spitz previously led Global Technology M&A at BNP Paribas, advising on over 50 transactions totaling $25bn.
