Kevin Plunkett is the Vice President of Cloud Services for Dish Wireless where he has built the World’s first cloud native 5G standalone open RAN network. His innovative deployment of Open RAN on Cloud Native architecture coupled with driving data engineering and advanced AI operations is revolutionizing the telecommunications industry. Before joining Dish Mr. Plunkett was the Sr. Director of cloud platform and architecture at Gartner where he was responsible for designing, delivering, and supporting cloud native architectures and appropriate platform services while also providing counsel on best practices in the latest cloud technologies, advanced automation, and ML/AI during Gartner's migration from heritage data centers to a multi-cloud / public cloud environment. Prior to Gartner Mr. Plunkett worked for Verizon where he was responsible for 500+ applications and 3000 persons' network systems portfolio as it related to private and public cloud platform architecture, AI/ML cloud operations, NextGen infrastructure, DevOps CI/CD strategy, and automation in partnership with other Verizon portfolios.
